The winning team with the Kearney Judges

We're thrilled to share that on Friday September 29th, a group of our high school students participated in a SuitUp business competition. SuitUp is a non-profit organization that offers students the invaluable opportunity to step into corporate environments, providing them with hands-on experience of what it's like to work in such professional settings. Students who participated were selected by members of the GEMS staff based on their academic achievements and their consistent ability to demonstrate leadership here at the school.

For this competition, students traveled to New York City to work at the corporate offices of Kearney, a global management consulting firm located in Time Square. Our students excelled in the competition and were able to demonstrate the high level of professionalism we hold them to.  A big congratulations also goes out to the winning team of Caden Jolly, Ayla Green and Daylin McKim who pitched to the judges of Kearney employees on their idea of “Swish Juice”. The winning team product was a vending machine that allows customers to mix and match juices to make unique flavors.

We hope to continue to build our relationship with SuitUp to provide more students with opportunities to compete in more SuitUp competitions. Last spring another group of students participated in a similar SuitUp competition in Boston. For more information on SuitUp check them out at volunteersuitup.com
