The School to Career office hosted an engaging workshop led by Mr. Eddie Brown and Mr. Elisha Bailey from Hartford Communities That Care, Inc. (HCTC) on "Level Up! Your High School Prep Playbook." Designed for middle school students in grades 7-8, the session empowered them to confidently prepare for high school and future career opportunities. Students learned how developing strong study habits, managing their time, and exploring interests through electives and extracurriculars play a major role in their long-term success. These early actions help build essential academic and social skills that guide them in choosing the right high school courses.
The workshop emphasized that being proactive now sets the foundation for college, technical training, or a direct career pathway. Overall, it encouraged students to enter high school with a clear plan and an understanding of how their choices today shape their tomorrow.

Bloomfield Public Schools has been busy all week showing all of our staff members just how much we appreciate everything they do on behalf of Bloomfield students. We chose the week of May 5th-9th because it's National Teacher Appreciation Week!
If you see one of our teachers, or any of the supporting staff members that make our schools and district great, please thank them for all they do!

Good afternoon GEMS Families,
We entered a lockdown today around 10:55 in response to student safety concerns within our building. The lockdown then transitioned to a shelter in place and was cleared by 12:10pm. Due to this lockdown, high school lunch times were affected and students received their lunch later than usual. We appreciate your understanding as we work to keep student safety as our first priority. Principal Colon
