We are so excited to welcome you to school tomorrow! A few notes:
-Please double check your bus stop pick-up time.
-School begins at 7:40 and ends at 2:20. We will dismiss at 2:20 and release the buses after we have confirmed everyone is on their bus. This can take 20 minutes or so on the first day.
-Breakfast and lunch are FREE! Students are welcome to have breakfast as soon as they arrive to school.
-We will provide lockers and schedules upon arrival.
-We have homeroom this year. Assignments are posted upstairs and on the main floor.

Bloomfield High School was abuzz Tuesday - a day before the first day of school -
as about 500 certified and non-certified teachers participated in 75 professional-development sessions.
The WINS Day - What I Need to Succeed - topics included team building, understanding emotional trauma, connecting with families, proactive and collaborative problem-solving, teaching multilingual learners and leveraging technology to improve student performance.
Our teachers are ready for the 2023-24 school year!

Monday's district convocation was the last one for both Superintendent Dr James Thompson and Bloomfield Board of Education Chairman Donald Harris. Both have served the district with distinction and are retiring this year after 12 years of service.



Bloomfield Public Schools Convocation 2023 was an ideal time to welcome back staff for the start of a new school year, Wednesday, Aug. 30.
Attendees heard from administrative and staff leaders, listened to four successful Bloomfield High School alumnus talk about the value of a BPS education and congratulated district 2023 Teacher of the Year Kimberly Thode from Wintonbury Early Childhood Magnet School.

We hope you had a wonderful summer. Today, we held our first event of the year...Rookie Camp! It was a great opportunity for those new to GEMS to get acquainted with each other, their teachers, and their new school. Thank you to all the families and staff that made this a great experience.
We also wanted to share some notes about next week.

Global Experience Magnet School was part of Regional School Choice Office Night at the Hartford Yard Goats game. Staffers Rich Michaud, Tom Rubino, and student Nathan Jolly all threw out first pitches. GEMS' Dean Anjanee Wright sang God Bless America before the 7th inning.
