Yesterday, the Wintonbury Historical Society visited CAMS to meet with 7th grade students who created excellent website map projects highlighting Bloomfield's history, in Mr. Taylor and Ms. Calabro's social studies classes. The guests were very impressed with the students' work and the students got to learn more about Bloomfield's history from the experts! The visit culminated in the historical society awarding each student a certificate and a free year long membership.

Last Monday, Ms. Calabro's and Mr. Taylor's 7th grade social studies classes took a very unique field trip.; The Wintonbury History Society sponsored and narrated a bus tour of 8 historical locations in Bloomfield. The students were able to stop at the Filley House, one of 8 traprock farmhouses in the country, and see the current restoration efforts. This field trip was meaningful for the students as they recently completed a Bloomfield history project in their social studies class researching the very landmarks on this bus tour.

Good evening,
We have been made aware of racist and derogatory text messages that have been sent to Bloomfield students and community members. It is our understanding that individuals across the country have received these hateful messages, and the Town of Bloomfield and the Bloomfield Board of Education stand united in condemning any and all forms of racism, prejudice, or hate within our community. We are deeply disturbed by the recent remarks involving this racially offensive language, which violates the core values of respect, inclusion, and equality that we hold as a town and school district.
Racist language, behavior, and rhetoric have no place in Bloomfield, and we are committed to ensuring that every member of our community feels safe, valued, and respected.
In conjunction with the Bloomfield Police Department, we are actively responding to these incidents and will work with local, state, and federal authorities to assist in their investigation.

Our CAMS science teacher, Ms. Rodriguez, is a veteran! Today, she taught her academy students an army marching cadence called "I left my home" in preparation for our school's Veterans' Day assembly this Monday.
