Here are the head shots of the five Bloomfield High students recognized by the College Board for their academic prowess on standardized tests and in the classroom. The Board's National Recognition Program identifies high-achieving sophomores and juniors from underserved communities across the country. It is an accomplishment viewed favorably by colleges and universities when receiving college applications. In addition to highlighting that a student has done well on standardized testing, the Board’s recognition also indicates the student carries a grade-point average of at-least 3.5 at their school. Welcome Kimberly Dunbar - the newest member of the Bloomfield Board of Education. She replaces Joseph Wilkerson, Jr, who moved out of town. Ms. Dunbar is an Associate Retirement Benefits Officer for the Office of The State Comptroller. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Communications from Eastern Connecticut State University. She and her husband have lived in town for more than 15 years and have two school-aged children.

Bloomfield Public Schools celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month, which runs from
Sept. 15 to October 15. This year's theme is Prosperity, Power and Progress. Our district values diversity, inclusion and respect for all cultures. Students of Latino heritage are an emerging population in our schools.
Join us in acknowledging and applauding the contributions of those from these eclectic communities.

Important Reminder: All enrolled students in district will receive a free healthy breakfast and lunch at school during the 2023-24 year. Children will not have to pay a fee or submit an application. This free-meals program is part of a national program, known as the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP).
